I went to Florence AL over the weekend with my cousin to celebrate my sister in law's birthday. Two friends from Nashville joined us and we enjoyed a wonderful beef tenderloin dinner and an Italian Cream Birthday Cake which my mother made for the occassion. It was a jeans and barefoot kind of twirl.
Goodness, we had a cat named Runt, going from lap to lap, purring and cooing. We listed to our Nashville friend discuss his new book about listening angels - anything is possible with these messengers of the Lord. We heard music from a soon to be sensation who another friend manages and has been on the road with - oh my what a life coast to coast. We laughed as my cousin and I remembered times growing up and practical jokes.
We drank Mooba Splashes as the sun set on an unusually warm evening. We toasted my brother who we lost a little over a year ago. He was a devoted and beloved orthopaedic surgeon who changed lives and left this world a better place. We drank his favorite Cakebread wine and tears welled in our eyes at times, you will forever miss someone you love.
Always spend time with those you love, life holds no guarantees. Happy twirls on this Super Bowl Sunday.
