"Be not forgetful to entertain strangers,
For by so doing
Some have unwittingly entertained angels."
Hebrews 13:2
April 13 is the day an angel was born. Aside from the exquisitely beautiful rose gardens she tends, she also tends to her family and friends, even reaching out to help those she’s never met.
I believe she’s an angel on earth. I believe that the good Lord often places people along our path to give us encouragement, love, skills and hope. God always sends someone to make everything better.
Sometimes we don’t realize that everything we do can touch others. One smile can brighten someone’s day, one kind word can assure others they are loved and a thoughtful act can soothe another’s pain or loss. It’s so simple, yet so enduring.
Although they don’t arrive with a blast of trumpets, or appear with feathered wings and glowing halos, I've known them just the same as angels. They perform their acts in human guise, sometimes borrowing the faces of family and friends, and sometimes just posing as well-meaning strangers. Marcia Bryan is an angel to me. Her unwavering support, friendship, and kind words are as inspiring and heartfelt as any I have known.
Marcia shares her blessings with many and I’m just lucky enough to be among them. She is also a very creative soul whose life is an expression of her artistry. You feel better by just being around her. Though I don’t spend a lot of time with her, I know she is just a phone call away. She and my dear friend, Sheryl Putnam, create beautiful decoupage, hand knitted wraps, prayer pockets, paintings, and gardens. They share their joy and talents with so many.
I will never forget the joy Marcia gave my friend Dianne Odell when she sent hundreds of pink glass bubbles to fit over the lights on her Christmas tree. Sheryl had told Marcia we were decorating her room for the holidays. Well when that Santa sized sack arrived, Dianne giggled, and cooed as that tree lit up in a heavenly pink glow. Marcia touched Dianne though they had never met and Dianne never forgot the beauty of that Christmas.
Angels see the smallest and simplest of things as a reason to celebrate, and do so by radiating their joy. Take time to say thank you to your angels, both on this earth and in the heavenly realm. Happy Birthday Marcia Bryan, you spread bliss along life’s journey. Below are the littlest Bryan angels.

What a wonderful way to honor your angel friend. I love her just hearing about her. Her garden is amazing as are those beautiful little children.
Hello Miss Libby! A lovely tribute to your special friends! And every word you wrote is so eloquently spoken and very true of entertaining angels when we least suspect! I've thought of that often throughout my life. I wanted to let you know that I made the German pancakes for out of town guests this past Saturday., I took a photo of the recipe in the book and will email it to you. I hope to post about it in the future., but don't want you to wait that long to get it! ;) ~CC Catherine
Hi Libby..
What a beautiful tribute to your friend Marcia. God has placed so many wonderful angels in my path of life.. I'm so grateful for each and every one, yet I often forget to let them know how much they mean to me. Thanks for reminding us all to do that... Marcia appears to have a special Angel as well.
Thanks for stopping by my blog earlier and for becoming a follower.. I hope you visit often.
God Bless,
Debbie
Hi Libby! What a sweet post and what a wonderful friend! It is true...angels do live among us, don't they? And what cute little angels!! I hope you are having a good week...hugs...Debbie
Beautiful tribute!
"I believe that the good Lord often places people along our path to give us encouragement, love, skills and hope."
This is so true and sad that all don't recognize it.
How sweet. I do think that the Lord places people in our path, and I do believe that there truly are angels among us.
So sweet!
What a sweet tribute to your friend. You are both really lucky to have each other. I too believe there are many angels among us here on earth. All it takes to be an angel to someone, is too show a little kindness, support, encouragement, or even just a sympathetic ear during difficult times, just like you said.
Thanks again for taking the time to spread your own angel wings to come over to my blog and to show a little kindness to me.
Thank you, Sherri:)
Hello! I went back to read the story of Diane...what an amazing presence she had on Earth and now with the angels. Thank you so much for sharing all of this with us.
Such a lovely tribute to a dear friend.
I, too believe that angels walk among us!
Lovely post on Princess Diana as well.
