Hippoty Hoppoty Easter Baskets

Easter Baskets don’t have to be full of the usual chocolate bunnies, cream filled eggs and peeps. Just like the many Easter bunnies that are hopping around this time of year, there’s a variety of goodies to put in the baskets. Ever think about packages of flower or veggie seeds along with little garden tools? What about herbs that can be transplanted along with an herb book? Or then there’s tea – so many varieties with tea cups so little girls can have a tea party. Add an etiquette for children book or a framed Easter themed print sure to become a lifetime memento. Of course some blended tea or coffee along with some French macarons would be fun for the more savvy set away at college . Yum! Or then there’s the lotion, candles, soap or bubble bath in every combination of scents known to man. Pack a lovely picnic basket full of goodies – cute paper plates, wine, a blanket, cheese, crackers, chocolate and a map – to some fun weekend retreat. Oh you can be cleaver! Don’t forget that Papa Bunny might really smile if he found a basket or wooden box with some tools, magazines, ball game tickets, or his favorite cookies – just knowing you thought of him. Bunny Foo Foo hopping through the forest will never get bored with the plethora of goodies to choose from. And make it look festive with ribbons, tulle, monogrammed pillow cases, bath towels, or a little linen boudoir pillow. What are you to do with cellophane grass anyway? If someone is entertaining, send a centerpiece that can be used later, such as the lovely Easter English Garden or the Easter Veggie, Herb and Flower Basket designed by J Kent Freeman Floral Designs of Jackson. Just hopping down the bunny trail, hipppoty hoppity Easter’s on its way.

The "big kids" still expect a basket ( and a stocking at Christmas) The first thing they ask is "Did the bunny come?". :) These are beautiful and full of good ideas. HMMM.. wonder if the bunny will come see me?!

Great ideas, Libby... None of us--including kids--need all of that candy, do we???? I love your idea of a gardening basket (with seeds, tools, etc.).

Thanks!
Hugs,
Betsy

Libby,
I love both of the arrangements shown above...how wonderful! I'm in agreement about baskets of goodies not always being the usual things shared. I did my first Champagne Easter Brunch tablescape this week with a vegetable center piece....just items around the house. Lu
