Cook It All in a $38 Million Home Outside Music City USA - Alan Jackson in the Kitchen

Lawsy mercy, who would have thought someone who lived on a $38 million dollar estate, would crave country fried steak with onions for supper. Well there’s a tall drink of water who’s one of the most successful entertainers in country music who does just that – Alan Jackson. He and his wife, Denise, and their three daughters are selling Sweetbriar and moving on.
Alan’s home is just south of Nashville and it’s for sale, yes for the right price you can enjoy the luxuries of a country star. In addition to a busy touring schedule, he and his wife have just come out with the second edition of their cookbook which is available from his website.
Ever wonder what selling over 50 million albums can afford you? Let’s start off with a hectic lifestyle of touring the country, sleeping on a bus or in various hotel rooms along the way. Now add to that the most expensive residential property for sell in the Nashville market. Sweetbriar is the 19,000 square foot home which has six bedrooms, seven bathrooms and two half-baths, plus a 20-car garage. Add to that a gymnasium, three ponds, and a boathouse on a 135-acre spread, and you get an idea of the lifestyle.

Alan Jackson’s Country Fried Steak with Onions
1 pound cubed steak
1/2 teaspoon meat tenderizer
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoon and 1/4 cup flour
1/2 cup oil
1/4 cup chopped onion
1 1/2 cup water
Sprinkle steak with meat tenderizer and salt. Dredge steaks in 1/4 c. flour. Heat oil in frying pan. When oil is hot, brown steak on both sides. Remove steak from pan. Reduce heat. Stir in 2 tb. flour and dash of salt. Brown flour. Add about 1 1/2 c. water. Return steak to pan. Add onions. Cover and simmer on low heat 20-30 min. until meat is tender. If gravy is too thick, add more water to make the gravy the right
consistency. Also, check for taste on salt. Serve hot with biscuits, mashed potatoes and salad.

OMGoodness look at that place. Man I would love to go on a tour there. I just love looking at houses! I use to ride along the beach here an look at the lovely mansions.. but they no longer exist due to hurricane katrina. But boy were they beautiful.

I love me some Alan Jackson country fried steak! Yummie :-))

That's some spread, Libby! I would hate to think about the upkeep, but it is beautiful! That cookbook sounds interesting, too! I love to see what you're doing over here...

XO,

Wow, that is some property! It's funny, but I cannot imagine living in anything so huge. But it is certainly beautiful! Thanks so much for joining the fun at Mosaic Monday. :)

First thing I thought when I saw this Nashville spread was, "oh, man, it must cost tons to just keep it all up"...then it dawned on me that if you can afford something like that, you dang sure can afford to "keep it up"! Haaa..It is, indeed, beautiful. I can't even come close to imagining how life would be if you were that rich.
One thing, tho...he cooks his Country Fried Steak just like we do....same way!!
Thanks for the grand tour...

Some people just have too much money. However I am not one of them so I will just have to go through the virtual tour and live vicariously.
Of course you could wander around there for a good month or two before anyone noticed there was an extra person in the house.

The only thing holding me back from making an offer on the home, is that I would not qualify for the First time homebuyer $8000 tax credit...I always have the worst timing.
