Childhood Friends All Grown Up Celebrate Sherry's Birthday

Dr. Larry Ray is one of the most creative and cultured souls on the face of this planet. Just this week his international collection of puppets which he has amassed over 45 years of travels around the world were loaned for a display at the Discovery Museum. This is a tablescape he created with a centerpiece crafted by his father. The carriage is entirely handmade and was a finalist in a competition sponsored by Fisher Bodyworks over fifty five years ago. It is the heart of his many collections and is exquisite. Now wouldn't you feel like celebrating a birthday sliding up to this beautiful table in his parlor. His setting is no less than perfect to me, as is everything he does.

Funny – causing amusement, especially enough to provoke laughter

Attractive – good-looking, pleasing in appearance or manner
These are words that describe a friend of mine. We’ve been friends since junior high and she’s always been one to make you smile and she always remembers her friends in good times and the rough times.
A nurse, she has certainly calmed and comforted many a patient before surgery. A wife, she has taken care of her sweet husband and spent time on the river or wherever he wanted to go. A mother, she has raised two beautiful children. A daughter, she has buried her mother and takes loving care of her daddy. A friend, she is the one who stays in touch, celebrates life’s milestones with those she loves, and is the first to call or bring food when we lose someone we love. She loves her puppy dog, a glass of wine from time to time, Mac, First Presbyterian Church, voting for her Democratic friends even if it’s not popular, and playing bridge for the fun of it. She loves life, laughing, cooking, the color turquoise, and is a true sister of the South.

Surely the stars are dancing in the heavens to celebrate the day Sherry Yokley Thomson was born. Happy Twirling Birthday Sherry and may this September 23rd be your greatest birthday ever! Cheers and I hope you celebrate with fine champagne and rich chocolate!

4 skinless chicken breasts (or tenders because they cook up more tender), 6 oz. Swiss cheese slices, 1 can cream chicken soup, 1/4 cup white wine, salt and pepper, 1 cup herb stuffing mix, 4 tbsp. butter Preheat oven 350, place raw chicken in greased baking dish, top with Swiss cheese, Mix soup, wine, salt and pepper; pour over chicken. Sprinkle stuffing mix on top and drizzle with butter. Bake 45-60 minutes.
