Mustard Aïoli on Ciabatta Toast with Chorizo which is platted on a Skyros Pomegranate Platter.
Oh wow, Kathy Pitts opened the doors to Skyros and believe me the photographs don’t do this beautiful tableware justice. It is a stunning collection and the colors are easy to mix and match to create different settings and moods. The classic detail will hold its style and some of the pieces are hand painted and signed. It’s art for your table. I have to admit I now own place settings for several of the Isabella in a celadon green which I mixed with the Pomegranate in a coral, lime, yellow and celadon.
Kathy has just returned from Portugal where she met with her design team to increase her line. While there a customer rang her cell phone and was surprised to get a return call from half way around the world. Now how’s that for customer service? The best! There were returning customers who happily gave testimonies to others as they added to their collections. And it’s microwavable, dishwasher safe and oven proof.
The service pieces were used for the appetizer presentation of Iberian foods and wines. Chef Stan Gibson, who is one of the Mid South’s most treasured caterers, prepared appetizers that were passed among the happy shoppers.

Drizzle with Mustard Aïoli and garnish with minced scallions. Add a touch of fresh parsley for garnish and pass that gorgeous Skyros Pomegranate platter among your guests.
Mustard Aïoli
3 egg yolks
1 ½ cups olive oil at room temperature
1 tsp fresh lemon juice

Combine everything except olive oil and whisk together. Gradually add the olive oil and whisk as it emulsifies. You may want to make this in your blender or food processor and gradually pour the oil in small amounts.

Tablescapers I wish I could invite you all to meet me in Memphis Thursday. The co-owner of Skyros Designs is a Memphis woman who once a year invites friends to gather for Iberian wine, cheeses, tapas and a chance to grab a few bargains. I am thrilled as I love the Skyros tableware.
Skyros Designs are a collection of fine European products for the kitchen, table and bath. It includes some of the most gorgeous and practical tableware and serving ware which is imported from Portugal.
Skyros Designs is owned and operated by women who share a passion for life, laughter, love and hard work. They are a charismatic group of savvy women who constantly search for and develop unique collections and designs to please their clientele.
Beauty and function are buzz words in all of the items they offer. The company reflects the character of the women who chart its course and the small, familial Portuguese factories that make the merchandise. Their line is offered across the country and from several online retailers. It’s artistry for your table and not imported knockoffs. I’ll let you know what I find and will also will share some recipes and a review of the wines from the area. Chef Stan Gibson, who is one of the most talented chefs in the Midsouth, is creating a tasting menu to compliment the wine selections. Cuidado! (Take Care)
