Old Fashioned Goodness in Every Bite - CHOCOLATE SHEET CAKE the RECIPE every COOK MUST HAVE

Chocolate Cake
My Aunt shared this recipe with my mother in 1960 and it has been a family favorite ever since. It’s easy, moist, and delicious! Nothing fancy, but the perfect consistency and flavor to make you crave it!
2 cups sugar
2 cups flour
5 – 6 tablespoons cocoa
2 sticks butter
2 eggs
1 cup water
1/2 cup buttermilk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon soda
Boil butter, cocoa and water. Pour over flour and sugar mixture. Beat, add eggs, add buttermilk. Cook in large rectangular pan (9 x 13 sheet pan) at 350 degrees for 20 - 25 minutes or until it passes the toothpick test. It will pull away from the sides a little when done - don't overcook. Batter will be very thin.
Chocolate Icing
1 stick butter

2 – 3 heaping spoons of cocoa
1/3 cup milk
1 box powered sugar
Melt butter, cocoa in sauce pan. Pour over sugar and beat until smooth, adding milk. Spread over lightly warm cake.
