Baby it's Red Hots Salad

Oh this is so easy, but so delicious. The first time I heard about this recipe, I wasn't sure about the redhots as that was never a real favorite of mine. But guess what, I love it and it's a keeper. Everytime I serve it, it dissappears! I have even served this on an elegant dinner buffet in individual servings so it can be scooped up.
1 small box Cherry Jello
1 small box Lemon Jello
2 cups hot water, boiling
2 (16 –ounce) cans applesauce, chilled
1 package Red Hots candy
Dissolve Red Hots in the hot water, add jello and mix until blended, about 2 minutes. Add the applesauce and chill in refrigerator overnight. You can change the Jello flavors to suit your taste. Serve on a bed of lettuce with a dab of good mayonnaise (home-made or Duke's for me.)
