Swagger Chex
This is so good it will put the swagger in anyone’s step. Watch these munchies disappear as fast as you put it on the table. Everyone wants just a little bit more! It’s salty, sweet, crunchy, and sassy delicious. I like to serve in a class along with the drink order. Goes great with soft drinks, cocktails, and beer . . . or just all by themselves.
4 cups Rice Chex® cereal 4 cups Wheat Chex® cereal
2 cups Parmesan-flavored crackers
2 cups pretzel twists
8 slices bacon, crisply cooked, drained, and crumbled
2/3 cup packed dark brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup butter
1/4 cup white corn syrup
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1-1/2 tablespoons Louisiana® hot sauce
1 teaspoon sea salt
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 can mixed nuts
Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Line two 15x10x1-inch sheet pans with foil. Spray foil with cooking spray. In large bowl, mix snack mix, nuts, and bacon. Set aside.
In large saucepan, heat brown sugar, butter and corn syrup over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until bubbly around edges. Cook 5 minutes, stirring occasionally; remove from heat. Cool 2 minutes. Stir in Worcestershire, hot sauce, salt, pepper, and spices. Pour over snack mixture; mix with a wooden spoon until evenly coated.
Spread snack mixture on pans. Bake 15 minutes, stirring every 5 minutes, to caramelize mixture. Cool completely, about 1 hour. Break into pieces. Store covered in refrigerator.
