I love pecan pie, of course, I'd get kicked out of the family if I didn't. I'm so happy you listed sorghum, that's my preference. Like you, I've tried all the other concoctions people have come up with and admittedly some are rather tasty, but just give me a basic pecan pie without all the frills and I am one happy Southern gal!

NOW you have my ATTENTION!!! My favorite pie. G'ma used to bake pies for a local restaurant & she always made me a pecan pie JUST FOR ME not to have to share, & as a typical child, I did not share. I will give this one a try. TY for sharing.

I have been experimenting with making a pecan pie here in Brasil.... first I am really bad at crusts and the flour is too fine....so used crushed vanila cookies... then no picans so used walnuts (at R$49 kilo) everything else is basically what your recipe calls for.... first tasted delicious but was more a walnut and sugar crumble... will try again with some of your recipe.... but no pecans - just can't find here.

I have 2 ladies coming over tonight for movie night (my hubby out of town) and after pizza and salad, we'll have Jack Daniels Chocolate Pecan Pie with a scoop of my favorite, COFFEE ice cream....
